Yesterday at Woking Park we hosted the biggest game in our history, battling it out with Hanworth Villa in the Isthmian South-Central Play-off final.
On the pitch it’s been an outstanding season from Andy, his staff and the players. We’ve said it many times already, and will once again reiterate how proud we are of a magnificent season.
Westfield and Hanworth Villa are long standing friends and rivals, going back some 20 years to the Combined Counties days. They fully deserved their victory and we send Simon and his team our congratulations and best wishes ahead of their journey into Step 3.
Yesterday’s attendance was a record-breaking 1,497 at Woking Park, and ensuring everyone's enjoyment and safety in such instances is a top priority.
Everyone at Westfield would like to share heart felt thanks to Tracey, Dave and the rest of the committee, plus numerous volunteers from the Hanworth camp, for their assistance in ensuring the day ran as smoothly as possible.
Their guidance and advice was invaluable and on the day they came in their numbers to assist with stewarding, providing radios and even frozen burgers after our stocks were depleted following the semi-final.
They even put us in contact with a security company who again were superb on the afternoon. The team at Hanworth went above and beyond, and from all at Westfield we once again wanted to show our appreciation.
We'd also like to thank Kellie at the Isthmian League and Derek at Fanbase who were always on hand to answer our many questions.
Further, yesterday would not have been possible without the help of our own volunteers, including our committee and parents of players coming together and helping our very special club on a massive day.
And last but by no means least, thank you to the fans. We wouldn't have made it this far without you.
Thank you all for your impeccable efforts.
Up the Field.
