Westfield were held to a draw this afternoon by a resolute and determined Corinthian-Causals side.
After dominating the early stages and missing a few good chances Westfield finally opened the scoring in the 21st minute when Jordan Alves saw his effort from the edge of the box nestle in the far corner.
The home side did respond well and saw an effort of their own ruled out but Westfield were denied going into the break 2 goals to the good following a magnificent double save from. Dan Purdue to deny Manolis Gogognas and then Alves.
Shortly after the break the game was level when Djinadou shot from the angle and despite Sonny Wheeler's best efforts the ball looped into the far corner.
Westfield were denied by Purdue again on a few occasions but as the game went on seemed more desperate in their attempts to get back ahead and despite dominating possession failed to create enough to win the match.
